The monthly cafe, set up by local Dee, celebrated how it knows best – with delicious cake, lovely singing and great company.
Each Good Mood Cafe session in Haddenham focuses on a different craft, ranging from collages to pottery, while attendees enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Supported by our Good Life Fund, Dee set up the cafe after the COVID pandemic as she herself faced loneliness and wanted to provide a fun social space for others in the community in a similar position.
Speaking about the cafe, Dee said, “I’m really proud of our group and the people involved. Thank you for your support over the last year, I’m looking forward to the next year together”.
The cafe continues to provide valuable opportunities for people to make new connections, and Dee has done an amazing job at organising exciting activities for all involved. Following the success of the group, there are also plans to set up a Good Mood cinema, where people can find connections while enjoying great films together.
The Good Life Fund offers grants of up to £1,500 to set up groups to improve the wellbeing of your community. The Good Mood Cafes set up with this fund provide people the chance to connect with other people, who may have similar feelings, and give support to those who need it.
