Martin Jennings, Managing Director of Sublime Racing and Advance Performance, said, “We wish to support local runners in preparation for their chosen event in order to raise money for CPSL Mind. The benefits of running on a regular basis are many but they aren’t just physical, there are also benefits from running for mental health. Repeated studies have shown a link between regular exercise and the reduction of stress and anxiety in endurance related physical activity. Since the start of the COVID pandemic there has never been a more important time to do our best to be both active and fit, physically and mentally”
Catherine Keating, our Community Fundraiser said, “We are so thankful to Martin and the team at Advance Performance for supporting our runners in their endeavours. It has been a tough year for individuals who have been isolated from others. Running, be it virtually or with one other person, over lockdown has helped people’s wellbeing. Getting out running also ties in with one of the 5 ways to wellbeing to “Be Active”.
As we recover from several lockdowns and the Covid-19 pandemic, people are still struggling with their mental wellbeing in many different ways. In response to increased levels of anxiety, isolation and loneliness, we have adapted our existing services and are now, once again, able to spend more time out in the community with those that need it. We look forward to working with the Advance Performance over the year”.
