Simply put, trustees are volunteers who lead and make decisions on behalf of charities. Our board of trustees not only collectively make decisions that impacts the positive mental health in the local community across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire, but they also bring a wealth of experience and skills that contribute towards our goals. That’s why for Trustees’ Week, we’re putting a spotlight on what Trustees’ Week is and what our board of trustees support means to us.
What is Trustees’ Week?
According to trusteesweek.org, ‘Trustees’ Week is a time for us to come together to celebrate the achievements of nearly one million trustees across the UK. Thank you for the time, commitment and effort you bring to your charities to help them thrive.’
Each and every day, we want to thank our board for everything they do to help us meet our vision: a society in which everyone has positive mental health and feels part of a connected community.
When is Trustees’ Week?
The official celebration this year lands on the 4 to 8 November 2024 according to Trusteesweek.org. If you’d like to stay in the loop with our Trustees’ Week or charity information, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter or follow social channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X to keep up to date with the latest news. As part of Trustees’ Week 2024, NCVO is launching a report on the trustee recruitment and retention challenges facing charities.
How are we celebrating Trustees’ Week at CPSL Mind?
Here at CPSL Mind, we caught up with one of our newest Trustees – Scott Smith. In this interview Scott shares why he became a Trustee a CPSL Mind, what expertise he brings to the role and what positive mental health means to him. Reflecting on his experience so far Scott said, “Probably the one thing that I’ve enjoyed the most is just meeting everyone that works at CPSL Mind. We had our away day in the summer and that was one of the first things I did as Trustee, and it was absolutely fantastic to be in a room full of all of the senior leadership team, the other Board of Trustees, volunteers, people who work to different levels of the organisation, and just seeing the amazing work that everyone’s doing and how everyone works together to achieve CPSL Mind’s vision.”
